THE TRAVEL EXPERIENCE "ACADEMY OF TALENTS" PROJECT WITH THE PARTNERSHIP OF IDENTITÀ GOLOSE MILANO

Travel Training has conceived and is promoting the Accademia dei Talenti (Academy of Talents) project. The project involves the selection of the best students by Professional Institutes for Food and Wine and Hospitality and the best Hospitality Companies.

The project has the support and partnership of Identità Milano, the first Hub of Italian Gastronomy.Identità Milano represents a permanent advanced training laboratory in the heart of Milan, a place dedicated to contemporary conviviality and experimentation within which to host the major players on the Italian and international gastronomic scene.The project stems from the will of the School Managers of Hotelier Institutes and the Human Resources managers of Hospitality and Food and Beverage with the aim of selecting deserving and motivated students who want to undertake JE or Apprenticeship courses in prestigious locations.

The aim of the project is to invest in the targeted training of the pupil through a programme shared between the school and the company where he or she can gain continuous experience during his or her school career.  Continuing experience in a company, understood as an academy, makes it possible to bridge the gap between skills acquired in training contexts and the skills required by the productive fabric. 

The trainee - coming from the third, fourth and fifth years of the Hotelier Institutes - trained in this way, becomes a human asset capable of later entering the work processes and contributing to increasing the company's value. Co-designing the pathway: selection, training campus, on-the-job activities, monitoring and evaluation, experiential incentives.

In order to co-plan the pathway, it is necessary to preliminarily define a number of operational and training methods that the company and the educational institute intend to implement in order to enhance the intern's experience and transform him/her from a "talent" into a professional in the sector potentially employable at the end of the pathway in the host company.  The project must include an initial selection phase. The host company and the school will jointly identify the selection criteria to recognise the most deserving trainees.

The period of the JE internship will be from 31 May 2023 to 13 September 2023.

Students participating in the course will be entitled to a reimbursement of expenses. The amount will be communicated in the company presentation form before departure.


Training Campus

Before the start of the course, the company will organise a training campus at its company.

The on-the-job activity should highlight the added value of the experience compared to 'traditional' internship courses by identifying the company's internal human resources in a management position. In fact, it is essential that line management fully supports the training course by supporting the other actors involved (chefs, heads of service, maîtres, etc.) by continuously emphasising their importance and participating as much as possible in the course activities.

Finally, regular monitoring and evaluation activities will be planned through the drafting of templates, reports and questionnaires.

The experience should be enriched by forms of incentive of a formative and experiential nature, gradually increasing over the course of the internship, capable of contributing to the growth of outgoing skills. By way of example only: participation in refresher courses already planned for company personnel, visits to company suppliers, etc.


The high-level training course at the Hub of Identità Milano

The best talents identified by the company at the end of the course will complete a Higher Education course at the Identità Milano HUB. The course will allow students to train alongside nationally accredited chefs in a workshop and operational context of the highest quality. In this way, the project participants will have the opportunity to come into contact with the universe of Identità Golose, the communication engine of the gastronomic sector and an international reference point for signature cuisine.

The promotional activity by TravelTraining at a selected group of Hotel Institutes will begin in February and then proceed to the selection phase with the presence of the companies at the Institutes.
