The wellness industry is experiencing a strong growth trend year on year. A trend determined in particular by the changing lifestyle of the western population, which is increasingly oriented towards the wellbeing of mind, body and soul and improving the quality of life. Wellness centres, spas and thermal baths have therefore become the main destination for those in search of peace and serenity. It is no coincidence that the Global Wellness Economy monitor highlights that the wellness market is now worth 4.2 trillion dollars and growing by 12.8% each year. Europe ranks first in the wellness tourism and SPA sector and is the fastest growing market in the corporate wellness sector. Italy is among the top 10 countries in the world in the wellness, spa and thermal tourism sector.
In line with what is cited in the Travel Experience Miur Guidelines and what is determined by the strong growth trend in the tourism sector, the JE TURISMO "Spa & Tourism" project is aimed at students in the Tourism Hospitality pathway who intend to specialise in the management of "wellness" area services in hospitality facilities. The student during the JE "Spa & Wellness" pathway will have the task of welcoming customers, helping them to find their way around the host facility, providing information and staying in contact with the operators for the choice of wellness services offered. He/she will also be responsible for compiling, managing and filing the forms of the accommodation facility in which he/she works, starting from a linguistic preparation that enables him/her to establish communicative relationships appropriate to the interlocutor and the situations. At the end of the course, the student will be able to manage booking schedules, plan and organise accommodation and rooms with a view to service quality, carry out reception activities, know communication and problem solving and decision making techniques, welcome guests requesting wellness services; know tourism marketing techniques and the promotion of wellness services; know the appropriate wellness terminology in English.
