On 6 February 2026 the curtain rises on the Olympics, the date for the Paralympics is 6 March 2026. It is estimated that the effect that the 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics will have on the 'country system' and in particular on Veneto and Lombardy, the regions where the events will take place, is almost three billion euro impact on the entire Italian economy.
But the challenge is also played out on another front: that of employment, which will benefit from the surge in production generated by the increase in demand. Thus, against a greater demand for goods and services of one billion euro, almost 13 thousand new jobs will be created. The positive effects will be felt first and foremost in everything that is closely related to the Games and which, in addition to the sports sector in the strict sense of the word, also concerns, for example, accommodation and hospitality, catering and transport. This pathway envisages the achievement of the skills and objectives of the JE activities, but above all it aims to ensure the presence of the students, now in the role of workers, at the starting ribbon in the hotel and catering facilities in the very places where the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics will be held.
